PhD in Psychology, (Ghent University, Belgium). Clinical psychologist, human rights and transitional justice specialist, with extensive field experience in supporting victims and communities involved in violence and social catastrophes.
She has completed the following studies: Master in Development Research, Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands); Master in International Peace Studies, United Nations University for Peace (Costa Rica); Postgraduate Diploma in Peace and Conflict Studies, Chulalongkorn University (Thailand); Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosocial Assistance in Political Violence and Catastrophes, Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain); Specialization in Human Rights, Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar (Ecuador); Postgraduate Diploma in Human Rights and Degree in Clinical Psychology Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador.
Over the past 15 years, she has worked with several organizations, including the International Criminal Court (The Hague, DRCongo), UN Women (Jordan), UNDP (Iraq), UN Peacekeeping (Kenya, China, India), Justice Rapid Response (Gambia, Uganda), PBI- International (Colombia), IIDH-IIHR (Costa Rica, Mexico, Argentina, Guatemala), Truth Commission of Ecuador, HIAS (Ecuador), focusing on a comprehensive range of mental health and psychosocial processes (MHPSS) and human rights management programmatic areas, especially after events involving political trauma. Extensive experience in participatory-action academic research. Relevant publications on related areas.
